Point of View: World Con Seattle

Two more days to go.

Tomorrow, I leave for WorldCon, and on Wednesday the whole shebang kicks off. It’s only my second time at this huge science fiction convention. The first time was before pandemic, in San Jose, California. Unfortunately, I wasn’t ready for it, and we only got to spend a day and a half there, with little to no advance prep.

This time is different. While I decided to actually go a bit late, I had made preparations just in case. I will have a table in the dealer room for Liminal Fiction, and I am planning to meet with a bunch of people and attend a number of panels and other events basically to network my brains out.

There are promising signs for my writing career lately, with some of my books getting a lot of attention, and it just feels like the right time to try to push ahead and reach a higher level. I don’t know if that’s possible, but you know me – hope springs eternal

Mark, unfortunately, is not going with me. He’s not as big as sci-fi buff as I am, and would be bored to tears spending five days with a bunch of other science fiction geeks like me.

Still, he will be supporting me from a distance the whole time, and we are both hoping that this quest leads to something good.

So wish me luck. And if you’re going World Con, stop by the LimFic booth. I’d love to see you!
